Things are falling into place now.
A one-week delay, caused by circumstances outside of my supervisor's control, got us off to a slightly late start -- but I'll put extra effort into week three to make up for the time. I've received a nice list of things to do (and possible approaches to same) from my supervisor, so my first big task for the upcoming week will be to apply some project management principles to it to build a humane timeline. I'll also need to begin my research for the literature review portion, and to finalize the list of libraries that I will be contacting.
I'll post again mid-week with the timeline draft as well as more specific details of the nature of my internship and the specific tasks.

Glad you have started, even if later than you and the site supervisor wished. I'll be watching for your next post re. the timeline.
